Hamid R. Abbasi, MD, PhD, FACS, FAAN

Professor Abbasi holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a PhD in computer science from Heidelberg University. He is one of the world's leading pioneers in minimally-invasive spine surgery. He holds faculty appointments at several international universities, has presented and taught extensively in more than 20 countries, and holds numerous patents related to spine surgery. He has authored more than 50 scholarly journal articles. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Association of Neurosurgeons (FAAN).

He is admitted to the practice of law in Ohio, Maryland, and Minnesota. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and has extensive background in healthcare operations. Additionally, he holds or has held adjunct faculty appointments at numerous universities teaching healthcare law and finance.
